So i started on refreshing and recreating this blog. It first used the beautifulhugo theme, but i ended up choosing blowfish as it allowed a wide range of configurations and tweaks. I wanted to do this project for quite some time but it took some time figuring out what theme and layout and looks i would go for. I personally think that this blowfish theme looks very cool and it even has a darkmode-lightmode switch function and it looks more profesional in my opinion. This blog is still heavily a WIP(Work-in-progress) but this will be one of the more major changes. In the future i might tweak some other things but i think that this will be the theme i stick with for the future. It does still use the same backend off the LXC with Nginx and Anubis installed as that works fine so no need to change/swap out those. I might tweak Anubis a bit, so it works as best as possible and maybe has some load monitoring feature that when the server is under heavy load, that it slows down incoming requests, but i will still have to figure that out.
I will also finish/work on other projects in the meantime and you can see some off the stuff i do on my Tiktok Channel, as i post most stuff there if you are curious. I also have a Youtube channel but i am not really that active on there. Not only because i dont have any ideas for long form videos, but also because i dont like the way youtube is going. In my opinion, they are stripping away and or changing features we did not ask for to be changed and they are heavily hammering down on Adblockers and getting as much users onto premium as they can, while they have a very buggy platform and they have better issues to fix like: Getting rid off/fighting against bots and spam channels, fix the AI moderation system (that now bans actual innocent creators while leaving the actual Slop or bad/predator channels alone. Making it so those innocent creators have to go to other social media, make a post and hope it gets enough views so youtube support can step in.), fix some platform bugs, fix the algorithm and search and just bring back dislikes. What is the function of dislikes? Its for the viewer to know if a video is worth watching, or is something like Free Energy bullshit or things that are impossible in real life but still get massive views. Also i dont like that, like microsoft (Microslop is what most people call them these days cause off the way they embed AI into everything), youtube also wants to fill up their whole platform with AI features, without any Opt-out function.
I do still use youtube, cause all my favorite creators are on it and i also use youtube for education and its how i got most of my electronics knowledge and skills. But if there is a better community focussed platform and those creators are willing to switch, i would too. I mainly watch electronics youtubers like: Electroboom, Greatscott. Some repair youtubers like: ‘Buy it fix it’, ‘My mate Vince’, ‘Adrians digital basement’ and some other creators. I also watch some scambaiting, malware analysts, hardware hacking and pentesting, minecraft and some other youtubers. But i use ublock origin on firefox to get rid off advertisements on pc and use on my anrdroid phone, the youtube revanced App to basically patch and modify the APK ading stuff in so you can enable or disable features. Alsop the revanced app allows bringing back dislikes, ad-free watching and it allows you to block the sponsor segment off any youtbe creator and allows modifying things like description, Youtube-shorts and other things.
I did already setup a rules page and a commenting system is still a WIP. Please also read those rules. They are meant as to keep things peacefull and respectfull and are not meant to lock down/limit freedom. I dont know what comment system i will implement. It can be either giscus or remark42. I might choose giscus first and maybe later move on, or if it works fine, leave it be.
I am also in the works off addding a tags system. The tags system will be so people could easily sort posts based on tags i set.
